FAQ

What is the Grief Support Gift?

The Grief Support Gift is a $500 donation offered to one grieving parent who has experienced a late miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss. It's meant to help ease the cost of healing—whether through therapy, a memorial, time off work, or anything that helps you feel held.

Who is this gift for and why?

This gift is for anyone who has experienced a late miscarriage (14–20 weeks), stillbirth, or neonatal loss (0–28 days old). Your loss does not need to be recent—whether it happened weeks or years ago, your grief still matters.

All pregnancy and infant loss is sacred. This gift is intentionally focused on late miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal loss because these experiences often carry layered medical, emotional, and financial impacts, including extended hospitalizations, birth and postpartum recovery without a living child, funeral or memorial costs, and long-term disruption to daily life. With limited funds, this offering is designed to support those most affected by these overlapping burdens. This focus is not a reflection of the depth or legitimacy of grief in other forms of loss, but rather a matter of scope and capacity. We honor all loss and hope to expand support offerings as this community continues to grow.

Why is there a $25 application fee?

The fee helps cover administrative costs like application review, web hosting, and the time it takes to honor each submission with care. If this fee is a barrier, you can request a waiver—no explanation needed.

What if I can’t afford the application fee?

We understand. Please email us at [your email] with the subject “Fee Waiver Request”, and we’ll send you a private application link. Your healing should never depend on your financial situation.

Will I be refunded if I’m not selected?

The fee is non-refundable, but your application will be saved and considered for future support opportunities if more funds become available.

How will the recipient be chosen?

Applications are reviewed with compassion and care. We look at the story you share, your current needs, and how the gift might make a meaningful impact. Every story is honored, whether chosen or not.

Can I apply again later?

Yes. If you're not selected this time, you're welcome to reapply when the gift is offered again in the future.
